There have been some controversial decisions made by President Donald Trump in his second term. Without going into all of them, it is sufficient to say that the Oval Office has been the focus of much discussion, and much of it has been negative.
The president of the United States has now added something new to the Oval Office, and it is causing a stir. It is a statue that depicts the moment he was wounded at the Butler, Pennsylvania rally during the assassination attempt.
You have likely seen the picture many times, as Trump is raising his fist in the air and shouting, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” Just prior to this happening, he was struck in the ear by a bullet that was meant for him.
In the small statue, the three Secret Service agents who were escorting him from the platform are also shown. This includes Sean Curran, the current agency director. There is also an American flag hanging vertically, which is similar to the one at the rally.
It is rumored that the sculptor who created the statue is Stan Watts. Although this hasn’t been confirmed, he is planning a 9 foot version of the statue through the Trump Statue Project.
The project website states that the statue is symbolic of ‘divine intervention’ and the message that Trump is offering of ‘unity and resilience’. Many feel that the attack in Butler, Pennsylvania, was a turning point for Trump and helped him get in office. There is also a lot of artwork that depicts the scene located in the White House.
One of the pieces of art in the White House that depicts the scene is a painting that is hanging in the East Wing. It was based on a photo by Doug Mills, a New York Times photographer. Elsewhere in the West Wing, Trump continues to update the look by adding art pieces that are sometimes controversial.
