Star Wars Reveals The First Transgender Stormtrooper

There is news out in the Star Wars world and not everybody is happy about it. Despite the fact that millions of people look forward to anything having to do with Star Wars, this one took them by surprise.

In the new Star Wars book,: ‘Star Wars: The Secrets of the Clone Troopers’ a new character is introduced. It’s a stormtrooper named Sister and she is the first transgender stormtrooper in the series.

This unusual twist was introduced on X by Star Wars Holocron. They describe Sister as was given in the book, saying: “When one of our kind expressed her gender identity differently than her fellow troopers, she featured [sic] she’d have to hide who she truly was inside. Fortunately, her brothers in the 7th Sky Corps gave her the name Sister as a constant reminder that she belonged.”

Sister was in the 2020 book, ‘Queens Hope’ and she served in the Galactic Republic. At that time, she was working alongside Darth Vader, who was then just known as Anakin Skywalker. She also worked along with Obi-Wan Kenobi during the Clone Wars.

This came after the rights were purchased to Star Wars from George Lucas by Disney in 2012. Now that they have decided to create a trans stormtrooper, a debate is raging online. Fans are certainly divided over how they feel.

Most of the complaints at the top of the list were against the inclusion of a transgender stormtrooper. They spoke about how this was supposed to be taking place in a galaxy far far away.

Others were excited about it, saying that they loved it and they were happy for the diversity in the clones.

We will just have to see where this one goes but for now, is causing quite a stir online.
