One of the biggest nights of the year for country music occurred recently when the CMA Awards took place. One of the highlights of that evening was when the live performances took place.
One of the performances at the CMA Awards was Post Malone. He provided a very emotional delivery of his music, but not everybody was on board with the style. In fact, some were rather harsh in their comments.
It all started on November 20 when Post Malone stepped out on the stage at the 2024 Country Music Association Awards. He would deliver a solo rendition, and the audience was paying close attention.
The song itself was rather interesting because he used an acoustic setup that had guitars and violins. He tried to blend in, wearing an embroidered suit and a cowboy hat but it was his song and singing that really got the attention of many.
Some people were talking about how they didn’t like the performance and that there were so many better performances that evening. They referred to his voice as being weak and said it was ‘hard to listen to.’
Others expressed their disappointment because they really loved him as a singer, but they weren’t appreciating his style that evening.
Then again, some people weren’t holding back when they gave their comments, including one who said that he is ‘talentless.’ Another went on to say that he was off-key and off-pitch but that is how he always sounds! They were wondering how he could be famous.
Although there were many of the commenters who shared something negative, there were others who said that they appreciated the song. They didn’t like the performance and called it terrible, but they loved that he wrote the song.
He did talk about the song himself, saying: “I’ve always wanted to make a record like this, but for the longest time, it seemed so inaccessible, because I didn’t know how the hell it worked.”
It’s just another case of not being able to please everyone. He’s famous, so you gotta give him that but perhaps his performance is not to everyone’s liking.
