Megachurch Pastor Suffers A ‘Health Crisis’ While Live On The Air

It can be stressful when you are in front of an audience, and even if you find yourself in such a situation regularly, you never know when your nerves are going to act up. Sometimes, you may even experience something that is completely unexpected.

Something recently happened to a prominent pastor and motivational speaker, Bishop T.D. Jakes. A statement was released on his social media regarding a health emergency he had following a sermon on November 24.

It was confirmed that he did suffer from a medical issue on that day but the 67-year-old bishop is being cared for by medical professionals and is stable at this time.

It all started at The Potters House of Dallas, where Jakes was giving the sermon and then was observed pausing and being assisted by others who ran up on the stage. The sermon was being live-streamed at the time, so many people in the viewing audience became concerned.

The church gave a statement, saying: “During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message. Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals.”

Jakes was sitting in a chair while delivering the sermon on stage and he was wiping his forehead with a cloth. He told the audience while talking about the toll that preaching takes on a person that it’s about giving back more than you gave.

Not long after, he lowered the microphone and looked downward before experiencing some type of convulsion. A number of people who were on stage with him gathered around to give him a hand and they stopped the livestream at that time.

We wish him well and hope that he is able to recover from this apparent health crisis.
