Fans of Liam Payne were shocked to hear of his death but they were even more surprised when they saw what he had posted on social media. It was a Snapchat that was posted just an hour before he died.
Liam Payne passed away after falling from a balcony at a Buenos Aires, Argentina hotel. The 31-year-old singer was found dead on the interior patio floor, as was verified by paramedics and the local police. It was later also verified by the Argentine Director of Emergency Medical Services, Alberto Crescenti.
He was getting ready for a day in Argentina and he shared a Snapchat with his fans. That Snapchat came in only an hour before he fell to his death. In the video post, he said:
“Today, we ride. We’re going to ride some horses. Think I’m going to play polo again, which is going to put me out of action for about six weeks.
“It’s so hard to do, number one, my back and my neck from swinging that hammer around… or mallet, I think it’s called if you’re in the know. It hurts a lot, it’s very tough to do.”
Fans have also reported their feelings that the post was scheduled. Kate Cassidy, his girlfriend who could be heard in the video posted on TikTok two days ago about traveling back to Florida.
Fans everywhere were shocked at the news that one of the beloved former members of One Direction had passed away. He was part of that group with Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan.
One Direction rose to fame in 2010 when they appeared on The X Factor. Afterward, they would go on to become one of the most beloved and best-selling boy bands of all time.
Eventually, they would take a break in 2016 and Payne would get to work on his solo career. He released a debut album, LP1, in 2019.
Many people have posted on social media about how surreal this all feels, especially considering that he had just posted the story on Snapchat an hour before dying.
