Doctor Warns Blocked Ears Could Signal Deadly Cancer

There are many things to worry about in life but one that most of us are concerned about regularly is our health. This is especially true when serious health issues are concerned, such as cancer.

Cancer is something that has touched every family in some way or another. It’s a concern that most people have, and now there is another reason to be concerned.

According to one doctor, a particular type of cancer that is ‘one of the fastest growing in the world’ could be discovered with a common symptom. This type of cancer can affect people both young and old, so it is little wonder that many are worried.

One of the most important factors when it comes to fighting cancer is identifying it quickly and getting help. Many doctors feel as if that is the best option for a positive outcome.

This includes cancers that affect the head and neck, which Cancer Research UK says affect approximately 13,000 people every year. Oncologist Dr Jiri Kubes, who works at the Proton Therapy Center in Prague, added: “Earlier diagnosis is absolutely crucial. The sooner we can identify head and neck cancer, the better the outcome.

“It is considered one of the fastest growing types of cancer in the world but there is still a worrying lack of awareness around head and neck tumours.”

One of the signs that often flies under the radar is persistently blocked ears. Dr. Kubes said, “This is a similar feeling to the one you might get after diving into a swimming pool. Stubborn earache also could be a sign there’s cancer around that area.”

He also spoke about sore gums and ulcers, adding: “Don’t just shrug off an ulcer – get it checked out by your GP as it could be a cancerous lesion. Pain in your teeth and white or red patches in the mouth are also tell-tale symptoms.”

If you have a sore throat that lasts for more than two weeks or if voice changes in hoarseness are a problem, Dr. Kubes says you should have them checked out.

Never ignore common cancer symptoms, including one that is often overlooked during hot weather. If you have persistent night sweats, this could be a sign of a serious underlying issue. According to one doctor, it may even be a sign of leukemia or lymphoma.

These signs may be common, but they should not be overlooked.
