Airbus Shows Off Their Double-Decker Seats And Everyone Keeps Saying The Same Thing About The Lower Seats

If you’ve ever flown coach, you realize that it is not always the most comfortable way to travel. Yes, it is convenient, but we often feel as if we are crammed into a space that is far too small.

It’s common for people to complain about the legroom available when traveling, but one aviation company seems to have a solution. It would help to provide legroom for everyone in coach, but it’s not without its issues.

I have to admit, it’s horrible to be crammed into such a small space with a lot of strangers. What makes it even worse is the fact that it is often at the beginning or the end of a vacation, so it seems as if it cuts into the enjoyment somehow.

Airbus, however, seems to have found a revolutionary way to stack seats in a double-decker fashion. Those double-decker seats, built by a startup in Madrid, Spain, Chaise Lounge, is working with the European aerospace company to test these double-decker seating plans fully.

The primary reason why these double-decker seats are put into place is to give us more room for our legs. There is a row of seats that is positioned at one of two different levels, with the first row at the normal level and the second row elevated on a raised platform.

When people started seeing the pictures of this revolutionary new way to travel, it triggered strong reactions. First of all, the top level can recline completely, but those on the bottom level are not able to lean back fully.

On the bottom level, passengers don’t seem to have as much room to stretch out their legs, but there are others who say that the awkward head height is the worst part.

If you are on the bottom level, you are right in the ‘fart zone,’ which is going to be worse than having a toddler kick you in the back of the seat. Many people went on Twitter to joke about the situation, saying that those in the lower deck are in the ‘line of fire.’

Even though there has been a lot of criticism, the company has had a lot of praise from Airbus. According to the CEO and founder of Chaise Lounge, “After 4 exciting years pursuing my dream of improving the passenger experience and giving passengers what they truly deserve, today I am very excited to make [this] announcement.”

“It’s the dawn of a new era for commercial aviation, so I hope that you are as excited as we are with this announcement and that soon, you can be crossing the skies in a more comfortable, spacious, and two-level seat.”

They did ask about the flatulence issue, but they received a response: “With some common sense and maturity, you should be able to find your answer.”

“Gas in general doesn’t go through solid objects like seat cushions, seat covers, and plastic shells.”

I think I might just walk.
