Woman Is Fired After Leaving Brutal Note Instead Of A Tip

I think that most of us who eat out at a restaurant on a regular basis have experienced bad service. It may be the quality of the food or perhaps the attitude of the waitstaff but in any case, it can be a frustrating experience.

What do you do when you experience poor service at a restaurant? I tell you one thing that you shouldn’t do, and that’s write a nasty note on the receipt because it may just cost you your job.

It happened when images from a Cazuelas Mexican Cantina receipt with a handwritten note from a female customer showed up on Facebook. The receipt was for $87.84, but on the line where the tips were added, it read: ‘Zero. You suck.’

To add insult to injury, below the signature line, the customer had written: “I hope Trump deports you!!!”

According to reports, the incident took place on March 2 at the Cazuelas Mexican Restaurant & Cantina in Columbus, Ohio. The line about deportation follows the immigration efforts by Donald Trump’s administration, including the mass deportation of illegal immigrants and putting an end to birthright citizenship.

The woman who wrote the message was, at the time that she wrote it, employed by Century 21 real estate. A spokesman from that real estate agent has now confirmed that she has been let go from her job.

They said: “We are aware of the situation with the agent in question. Hate has no place within the CENTURY 21 brand, and we are taking this very seriously.

“After investigating the situation and connecting with the respective broker, as all companies affiliated with the CENTURY 21 brand are independently owned and operated, we can confirm that this agent is no longer affiliated with the brand.”

A statement was also released by Columbus REALTORS® to its members on March 3. It confirmed that she is not a member of the Association currently.

The statement read: “Columbus REALTORS® is aware of a local agent’s discriminatory statements. While she is not a current member or an employee of Columbus REALTORS®, her comments do not reflect the values of our organization and are not aligned with the high standards we have for our REALTORS.”

A statement released by Cazuelas Mexican Cantina said: “We were deeply disappointed by the offensive message left on a recent receipt, which goes against our values and the welcoming environment we strive to create. There is no place for hate in our restaurant.”

The head of marketing from the restaurant said that Ricardo does not have a history of poor customer service. He added that he is a natural born US citizen from a Latino background.

That source said: “It was a normal Sunday. Things got a little busy, so the wait could have been a little longer than usual, but we aren’t really sure what made her write that.

“From what I hear… she wasn’t happy about a coupon or something like that. It’s just not right, just not right.

“He’s a really good person. We all… come here every day to do our job, which is to serve people and have a good time… Thankfully, all the community has been really supportive.”
