There have been many movies over the years that brought a beloved television show to life. This was recently seen in the 1991 movie, The Addams Family.
If you are one of the millions of people who watched The Addams Family movie when it came out in 1991, you realize how fantastic a job they did. It included some of the biggest names in Hollywood, such as Anjelica Huston (Morticia Addams), Christopher Lloyd (Uncle Fester), Christina Ricci (Wednesday Addams), Jimmy Workman (Pugsley Addams), and Carel Struycken (Lurch).
Now that over 30 years have passed, it was time for a reunion. They got the cast back together for a Comic-Con appearance on October 5, and it was the first time that they all came together for a fan event.
It took place at the LA Comic-Con, and everyone in attendance was absolutely thrilled to see so many big names together. Christopher, who played Uncle Fester in the movie then shared a picture of it on social media.
He wrote: “The family that haunts together, stays together.”
One of the saddest parts of the event, however, is that Raúl Juliá, who played Gomez Adams passed away in 1994 after he had a stroke at 54 years of age. He was still remembered fondly by others at that event.
Anjelica said: “He was the perfect gentleman. He was always first on set, last to leave. He was incredibly amenable.”
She went on to say: “He’d do anything you asked him to. He’s a great dancer … He was a consummate professional, really great, really fun. He would always sing, between scenes, between takes, he would always sing opera. He would keep us entertained.”
Christopher also spoke about him, saying: “He had a big, big heart, very warm person. He was very loving.”
The Addams family was a comic from 1938 and eventually became a television show. That was in 1964, and there have been a number of adaptations over the years, but the 1991 movie lives on for many as being the best.
